The essay! Thank you for sharing these words. They’re a gentle and needed reminder for me this week (and always?) I’m also checking out that hoodie. A person can never have too many, right?
I had to get a big cortisol shot in my foot a couple of years ago... it hurt so much at the time but did a lot for it. But now I’m careful about my sensible shoes 😅
Well this was delightful. I laughed, I cried. I read parts of it out loud to my husband. (Ie poop doula, potty training gifs; my strong willed 2 year old will use the potty when she decides it’s her idea thank you very much).
I have so many things to say about this, but for now I'll just say, you are not alone!! And before I forget, did you also read the book, Where The Crawdads Sing? The writing is stunning!!
What a beautiful essay, Krista!! I love all the links you shared, too! I forgot you and Shannon were listening to Scamanda on your drive!! Did you finish it on the way back home??
Thank you so much, Stacy! Yesss Scamanda was a TRIP. We almost finished it on the way home but not quite, so we each finished the week we got back and then freaked out via text to each other. 😅🫣 Have you listened?

Yes, an always-reminder for me, too. And *obviously* you can never have too many hoodies! I support this. :)
Inside Out is one of my all-time favorite movies, truly. And thank you for the reminder that I need to make apple crisp, stat.
Same! And thank YOU for the apple pancake recipe. Totally going to make those this month 😍
Poop doula. 😆😆😆
This is so beautiful, Krista. Thank you. And congrats on published work, you rockstar.
Also going to borrow "it just feels good to cry sometimes."❤️
Yes! It’s kind of our mantra around here tbh 😅❤️ Thanks for reading, Jess.
Oh man, I loved this so much. Thank you for sharing. I needed your words.
Thanks so much, Erin!
Okay, but I really feel you on the geriatric feet thing. 👵🏻
Lollll what is happening to us? Since when did we start caring about arch support?! 💀

Beautiful! I love Inside Out--cried like a baby last time I watched it. And I’m going to be cracking up about the term “poop doula” for a while!

Haha yessss that potty training stuff is no joke! 😂 Thanks, Alyssa. I’m really glad this resonated with you.
I needed this essay today Krista. ❤️ I’ll be thinking about it all week.
Thank you, Dani! ❤️

Thank you, Ashley! And no, for the first time in my life, I broke the rule of “book first, movie second”! 🫣 It’s on my TBR now, though.
I did it in the same order – you’ll still love the book!!
I think about that movie a lot too! Thanks for sharing💕
Krista. This essay is stunning. And massive congrats on the published poems! The Dig just grabbed my heart and squeezed.
Thank you, Bec! The Dig is my favorite--I'm so glad you loved it, too. <3

Yes, I did!! So wild!
