I’m very much like your daughter and always have been. 😆 here’s to being an illuminator! Lovely writing as always, Krista, and great recs. Shrinking is the best. I have a major girl crush on Gaby. Her purple overalls!!
Laura, I am zero percent surprised that you identify with being an illuminator—that was so clear to me when we met in Chicago! Never stop. <3 (I also have a girl crush on Gaby. She is soooo funny and confident!)
The illuminator, I love that! As a former military family, I’ve gotten good at striking up conversations with strangers and getting deep quickly. And the beyond yoga brand, I looooove it for my peloton workouts!
Ahhhh I love this! I used to have a job in a hospital that you would hate that involved going around the wards and knocking on people’s doors and saying, basically, “your doctor said you were sad, wanna chat?” But thanks to jobs like that, it means that I completely, inappropriately talk to everyone in public. I ask questions. I like public speaking. Strong extrovert vibes.
I read Jess Pan’s book Sorry I Was Late, I Didn’t Want to Come: An Introverts Year of Living Dangerously (it’s hilarious and brilliant, I think you’d love it), but she said something I’ve been mulling over for a while, “Nobody waves, but everybody waves back,”
Adding that to my TBR list!! I’m laughing at the way you summarized your old job too 😂 In some ways going straight to the heart of things is a gift..!? 🩷

No joke, your mention of the conversation about antacids reminded me to take mine this morning. So thank you 😂
Lolol this is who we are now, in our thirties. 😂

I bought magic words!! Thanks for the rec 🙌🏼 And the ephemerals piece was beautiful 💕
I love it, Sara! 🩷 So happy you enjoyed Ephemerals, too.
Yes to being an illuminator! I love that bc it's so loving towards others, wanting to understand them and make them feel seen.
Totally, Kym. I am both humbled at the ways I so often fail at this and encouraged to keep trying. Thanks for reading! :)
Me too, me too!
Thank you for reading Even After Everything! What a great treasury of recommendations here!
Illuminators, love that ❤️ Putting that rainbow loom on Presley’s Christmas list!
Yes! Report back on how it goes! :)
